AN O'BRIEN'S OPTICIANS UPDATE ON COVID-19

Updated 19th July 2021

Please read this information carefully before attending the practice for any reason. These COVID-19 practice procedures are put in place to keep you and our staff safe, whilst also complying with advice from the Government and NHS England. These procedures may change over time, so please re-read them before attending the practice in case any of them have changed.

As England begins to open up more and with the removal of social distancing restrictions, we would like to inform our clients and customers of the updated regulations that are in place from July 19th 2021.

As this practice is a healthcare setting, face covering use is still recommended by the NHS for the benefit of all patients, and due to the prolonged close proximity that is required. Our team will be continuing to wear face masks during your visits to the practice and we ask that you also wear a face covering while you are with us if you are able to do so.

We will continue sanitising in-between patients and visitors, and as such we request that you do not attend your appointment early as this can delay the procedures we have in place.

We will continue with an appointment based visiting system, and ask that where possible, any visit to the practice is done by a pre-booked appointment. This is so that we can control the number of people in the practice at any one time, and keep you and our team as safe as possible.

BEFORE VISITING OUR PRACTICE

All visits to our practice are by “APPOINTMENT ONLY”.  This includes, but not limited to, browsing, Styling Consultations, eye examinations, contact lens investigations/checks, spectacle collections.

If you require a repair to your spectacles, please expect to leave them and we will state a day/time you may collect them.  These measures will allow us to manage the number of people in our practice at any one time.

Please book an appointment by phone, email or via our website.  You can call us on 01652 653595 during our opening hours Monday-Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm and 9.00am - 4 .00pm on Saturday.  Alternatively you can email us at office@obriensopticians.co.uk and will return your call.  You can also reach us on our online booking request page on our website by following this link.

When booking we will as you some pre-appointment questions, these are simple ‘yes or no’ replies and all to allow you to safely attend your appointment.

We are asking that, where possible, you visit our practice alone.  However, if you need a chaperone or you are visiting as a family please advise at the point of booking.

ARRIVAL AT OUR PRACTICE

We ask you to arrive as close to your appointment time as possible, please do not arrive too early.  If you are running late please telephone the practice,

We are sure you will  understand we have to manage the number of patients within our premises for your own and our colleagues safety.

You will be required to wear a face covering for the duration of your visit, if you do not possess a face covering we will be able to supply this on entering the practice.

On entering the practice we have a wall mounted hand sanitizing station for your use.  We will then take your details and show you to our waiting area.

WHILST IN PRACTICE

All of our frames are cleaned and sanitized after each client has tried them on.  If you choose to try frames we would kindly request you place them in one of our red trays once you are finished with them.  You may try the frames as many times as you wish.  The trays are then removed and frames are cleaned and sanitized to return for display.

Please wear your face covering for the duration of your visit.

We have extended our testing times to 40 minutes, we do not want to rush you.  The test room will then be cleaned and prepared for the next patient.

These procedures have all been put in place to ensure you have a comfortable and safe experience while you visit.

We will keep you updated on any changes in the future on this page.

We thank you for your co-operation in this matter, and look forward to seeing a lot more of you coming back through our doors.

Keep safe
